After conducting a deep dive into the data on Wisconsin’s performance on PK-12 reading outcomes from the 2023-24 school year, WI Reads is proud to announce this year’s Standout Schools.
Each of the above districts achieved above the state average in 2024 and outperformed most others in our state in terms of reading outcomes on the Forward ELA exam when controlling for student demographics. In addition, each district shared the following evidence-based practices endorsed by WI Reads:
They have high academic expectations and believe ALL students can achieve at a high level
They use evidence-based instructional curricula and methods
They use multi-tiered systems to effectively address the needs of ALL students
They use ongoing data-based decision-making strategies to guide their instructional practices
