Wisconsin SoR What I Should Have Learning in College | wi-reads.org - This group is designed to help Wisconsin teachers understand the science of reading and how it impacts teaching reading. Many teachers were not trained using evidenced based instruction or materials. This site will help guide you through that process while keeping you up to date on legislative changes on dyslexia, teacher preparation, and education. If you want to know more of how to implement the science of reading into your classroom visit us often. I look forward to meeting and sharing with you all there is to learn on the science of reading, what you should have learned in college.

Science of Reading - What I Should Have Learned in College - The purpose of this group is to connect the research of how we learn to read to our teaching practice. Our mission is to inform and deliver to teachers professional development in evidenced based practices.

Pre-Service Teachers - What I Should Be Learning in College - Are you a future teacher studying the profession in college? Maybe you feel intimidated and don't know what to expect. Or, maybe you are learning some "weird" things from your professors - things that would never work in a real classroom, teaching methods that just seem a little off, or just downright confusing ideas - especially about how children should be taught how to read. Maybe you're curious if there's something you've missed. If that's you, you've come to the right place. Here we'll talk about all the things you should be learning in college about teaching and where colleges might sometimes get it wrong. This group is primarily for pre-service teachers, but all educators are welcome! Please know that, while professors and other educators may join and provide insight, this is a place for college students to speak freely about their experiences without judgement.

Science of Reading: Book Study - A group of educators eager to learn about the Science of Reading through book studies!

Science of Reading for Administrators-What Teachers Want You to Know - Reading failure can be prevented! This group is here to help support administrators learn about the Science of Reading (SOR); the “why” behind it, and the “how” to effectively support your school or district with it. Focusing on prevention of reading failure through the Science of Reading will ensure more children learn to read and reduce the need for intervention. SOR is about equity and creating hope for the future!

Training Reading Rocket Scientists - This group is for university faculty who are interested in training teachers who know and implement the science of reading.
